Working from Samnabad, without the cross-city commute
Samnabad is one of the older established neighbourhoods of central-west Lahore — dense, well connected, and home to a lot of people who now work for employers who are not in Lahore at all.
The commute from Samnabad to Sabzazar is a straight westward run along Multan Road, roughly fifteen to twenty minutes outside peak traffic. The easier option is often the Orange Line: Samanabad station sits on the same line as Sabzazar station, a handful of stops apart, which turns an unpredictable road journey into a predictable one.
What Samnabad has plenty of is housing. What it does not have much of is somewhere to work that stays powered, stays quiet and stays open late. Older housing stock also means older wiring and smaller rooms — fine for living in, difficult for a full working day on video calls. A dedicated desk at PKR 12,000 a month solves that without anyone moving house or signing a lease.
