Choosing a workspace
Quiet Places to Work or Study in Lahore
Quiet means different things to a student with a textbook and a freelancer with a client call at nine. The right place depends on which one you are.
For quiet, low-cost study time, Lahore's public libraries — such as the Quaid-e-Azam Library in Bagh-e-Jinnah, the Punjab Public Library and the Dayal Singh Trust Library — are the usual choices, though each sets its own membership rules and hours and none are suited to calls. Cafés work for a short session but are rarely quiet. For daily work that includes calls, stable internet and backup power, a coworking space is the most dependable option.
Before choosing, decide what you actually need. A place can be silent and still be wrong for you if you have to speak on calls, or perfect for calls and too lively to read in. The questions that matter are noise, whether you can talk, internet, power during load-shedding, hours and cost.
Public libraries
Lahore has several long-established public libraries, including the Quaid-e-Azam Library in Bagh-e-Jinnah, the Punjab Public Library and the Dayal Singh Trust Library. They are the closest thing in the city to true silence.
- Good for: reading, exam preparation, writing, long stretches of focused work without speaking.
- Not good for: calls, video meetings or anything that needs a dependable connection for hours.
- Before you go: each library sets its own membership requirements, rules and opening hours, and these change. Check with the library directly rather than relying on an old post.
Cafés
- Good for: a two-hour session, a change of scene, informal meetings.
- Not good for: quiet, private calls or a full working day. Music and conversation are part of the business, Wi-Fi is shared with every table, and staying all day on one drink is rarely welcome.
Home
- Good for: zero commute and zero cost.
- Not good for: many Lahore households at the hours that matter. Family life, guests, construction next door and load-shedding all arrive without warning. If home is your main workspace, check your LESCO schedule and put your router on a UPS.
Coworking spaces
- Good for: daily work, calls, stable internet and power backup, and a desk that is yours every day.
- Not good for: absolute silence. A shared floor has people on calls, so it is quieter than a café but not as quiet as a library.

How quiet our floor is, honestly
At Workspace by Spiderhunts in Sabzazar, the floor is quiet and bright in the early afternoon, busier from about six in the evening when people finish their commutes, and quieter and more focused again after eleven. There is no walk-in customer traffic, because we do not rent to public-dealing offices or call centres.
It is a monthly desk, not a study room: there are no day passes or hourly rates. Seats start at PKR 12,000 per month and include fibre internet, UPS and generator backup and air conditioning, Monday to Saturday from 11 AM to 2 AM. If you only need somewhere quiet for a few hours of reading, a library will suit you better. If you work every day and take calls, that is what the desk is for.
Questions people ask
Where can I study quietly in Lahore?

Does Workspace by Spiderhunts offer day passes?
No. There are no day passes, daily or hourly rates. The only product is a monthly seat, starting at PKR 12,000 per month.
